Phoenix Firefighters Tackle Massive Four-Alarm Blaze

A call for a grass fire quickly escalated as the flames spread to at least four buildings.

More than 100 firefighters helped battle the four-alarm fire, ABC 15 reported.

Vehicles, mobile homes and a house were destroyed in the afternoon fire. A shelter in place was ordered for residents in the area as thick, dark smoke filled the air.

Firefighters remained on the scene of hours before gaining control. The cause remains under investigation.
